Austin 6mm (1/4") Mortise Chisels are robust tools that are used for chopping out joints, and cutting mortises. They provide superb cutting performance, which is achieved by the expertly crafted sides that taper in height and lengthwise from tip to shoulder for sidewall clearance.

The forged blade is made of traditional Cr-Mn steel and is heat treated to 59 HRc. The bulky handle is hewn from hefty hornbeam wood, which enables a firm grip and is strong enough to withstand heavy blows with a mallet.
